The following key issues were discussed during the English-language lecture:
– International legal definition and qualification of genocide;
– Historical examples and modern manifestations of genocide:
– Crimes against humanity: legal characteristics and mechanisms of counteraction:
– The role of international organisations in preventing and combating mass human rights violations:
– Responsibility of states and individuals for crimes against humanity:
– Mechanisms for documenting and investigating war crimes:
– Activities of international tribunals and judicial institutions:
The students had the opportunity to ask questions to the professor and received meaningful answers, and the discussion proved to be extremely useful for understanding current trends in human rights.
Such international events contribute to broadening the academic horizons of our students, improving their language skills and strengthening the international cooperation of the Department with leading foreign universities.
We sincerely thank Professor Ulvia Sanila Aydin for her informative lecture and look forward to further fruitful cooperation with Dokuz Eilul University.
