The team of the Legal Clinic of Sumy State University has successfully completed a two-month training program aimed at strengthening professional skills in legal counselling and enhancing the quality of legal services provided to communities.
The program participants included the clinic’s curators — Mariia Plotnikova and Olha Shvager, as well as its head — Liudmyla Rudenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Administrative, Economic Law and Financial-Economic Security (AGPFEB).
Throughout the training, the participants improved their competencies in communication with war veterans, their family members, and individuals affected by the war. They also took part in a series of workshops on crisis counselling and gained new skills in presenting legal issues effectively on social media.
SumDU extends its sincere gratitude to its partner — the Legal Development Network, and to the program mentor, head of the Northern Human Rights Group, Nataliia Yesina, for their professional support and for providing such a meaningful learning opportunity.
The training sessions were implemented within the initiative “Strengthening the Capacity of Legal Clinics to Improve People’s Access to Legal Services in Ukrainian Communities,” carried out by the Legal Development Network with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine and funded by the Government of Denmark.
