On 28 November 2025, Liudmyla Rudenko, Head of the Specialized Legal Clinic on War-Related Issues of Sumy State University, took part in the 2025 Legal Clinics Forum, which traditionally brings together representatives of the clinical legal education movement from across Ukraine.
One of the key components of the event was the Report of the Board of the Association of Legal Clinics of Ukraine. The Chair of the Association, Yuliia Lomzhets, summarized the main achievements and results of the organization’s work in 2024 and the first half of 2025, outlining the priority directions for further development.
As part of the Forum’s programme, Liudmyla Rudenko presented the results of the activities of the Specialized Legal Clinic on War-Related Issues of SumDU, including its work on providing legal assistance to individuals affected by armed aggression, supporting cases related to war crimes, and implementing educational and outreach initiatives. She also participated in group work and panel discussions dedicated to the advancement of clinical legal education and the strengthening of the national network of legal clinics.
During the Forum, Yuliia Lomzhets also presented a new Association project —
“Strengthening the Institutional Capacity of Legal Clinics of Ukraine to Provide Legal Aid, Promote Human Rights, and Advance Legal Education in the Context of European Integration.”
The initiative is implemented within the “Human Rights Infrastructure for Ukraine” Programme (2025–2027) of the Raoul Wallenberg Institute and aims to enhance the role of legal clinics in protecting citizens’ rights, particularly in the context of post-war challenges.
SumDU’s participation in the Forum once again demonstrated the university’s active contribution to the development of clinical legal education and the formation of practical competencies among future legal professionals.
