On December 24, 2025, the legal awareness event “Know Your Rights” was held in the format of an interactive legal training for students of the Municipal Institution “Sumy Comprehensive School No. 5 (Grades I–III)” of the Sumy City Council, Sumy Region.
The event was conducted by Yevheniia Volodymyrivna Mykhailovska, PhD in Law (specialty 081 “Law”), Senior Lecturer, Deputy Head of the Department of Administrative, Commercial Law and Financial and Economic Security at the Academic and Research Institute of Law of Sumy State University.
During the meeting, a range of topical and practically significant issues were discussed, including the exercise and protection of children’s rights, the specifics of lawful behavior when communicating with police officers in various life situations, as well as the types and limits of legal liability of minors. The discussion was accompanied by an analysis of practical scenarios and examples from law enforcement practice.
Particular attention should be given to the activity, strong interest, and creative approach to solving legal situations demonstrated by the 11th-grade students. We express our sincere gratitude to the school administration and teachers for their support in organizing the event and for their fruitful cooperation in the field of legal education and legal upbringing of youth. Legal awareness among students is an essential component in shaping legal culture, a conscious attitude toward one’s rights and responsibilities, and adherence to the principle of the rule of law in society.
