One of the most important decisions that each of us makes in our life is the right choice of profession. If we make a mistake, it means wasting four to five years of our lives, spending too little money on education for a job that we won’t work in or won’t enjoy. Perhaps everyone has heard the phrase, “Going to work is like going to the gulag?”
Our Faculty of Law wants to help everyone make the right choice and understand the legal profession. To do this, we actively conduct training sessions and quests with students of grades 9, 10, and 11; invite everyone interested to visit departments, laboratories, and the legal clinic of the Faculty of Law; organize meetings with practicing lawyers, judges, prosecutors, and police officers. Follow our event announcements, attend, and act.
One of the quests held by the legal clinic of the Faculty of Law at SumDU for 11th-grade students:
Do you want to study “Law” creatively? There are many lawyers, but very few real lawyers.
Why choose the Law Institute of Sumy State University?
- It is no secret that most higher education institutions produce lawyers, but only a few graduates work in the field and earn a decent salary. The Law Institute of Sumy State University is focused on practical activities. The subjects you will study are useful, and the interestiexcitingcturer is focused on providing professional knowledge. You can work as a legal consultant, lawyer, or notary in law enforcement agencies, prosecutor’s offices, and courts. Or maybe you’re a future politician? Come to us. We are ready to provide knowledge and help you make the right choice.
- When you hear about the law, you imagine boring lectures and constantly studying laws. Come to us, and your lectures will be interactive. You will work in a legal clinic, communicate with real people and provide them with consultations. Do you want to imagine yourself as an investigator in a virtual reality studio and write a report on the scene without listening to 2 hours of dry Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine norms? Then come to us. Do you want to talk to a real judge from a local court, prosecutor, or police officer during lectures? Then come to us.
- For you and your parents, one of the crucial factors in choosing a higher education institution is the opportunity to study on a government-funded (budget) basis. Let me give you some interesting statistics. Sumy State University has the largest licensed capacity among the higher education institutions in the Sumy region, and many places (50% in 2018) are financed by the state budget.
- The job market is very competitive, and you will have to fight for your place after graduating from university. We provide additional competitive advantages: the opportunity for parallel studies in different specialties at Sumy State University, simultaneous receipt of a diploma from the University of Varna in Bulgaria under the educational program “National Security” (International Law) with a “double degree” program, and the opportunity to obtain a military reserve officer rank.
- And one more not powerful but significant thing. If you do not live in Sumy and need a place in a dormitory, Sumy State University has the best European-type dormitories for 2-3 people. Agree that it is better to study in good conditions
