DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE LAW OF THE INSTITUTE OF LAW

At the Department of Administrative, Commercial Law and Financial and Economic Security of Sumy State University, a guest lecture was held on the topic “Features of Effective Judicial Communication and Case Consideration under Martial Law.”

The speaker of the event was Nataliia Savytska, Judge-Speaker of the Sumy District Administrative Court, who shared with the participants — third-year students and master’s students majoring in Law (081) — her practical experience of judicial activity in wartime conditions.

In her presentation, Ms. Nataliia highlighted several relevant aspects of the judicial profession, including the ethical challenges faced by judges, the organization of effective communication between the court, parties, and society, as well as the peculiarities of case consideration in the changed conditions of the judiciary’s functioning.

Special attention was given to the principles of fairness, transparency of the judicial process, and the role of mediation as a tool for alternative dispute resolution in modern justice.

The lecture took place within the framework of the academic discipline “Current Issues of Administrative Law and Process,” taught by PhD in Law, Associate Professor Mariia Kolesnikova, and as part of the activities of the student research group “Current Issues of Administrative Law and Process.”

Law students highly appreciated the practical focus of the lecture, the informative content, and the opportunity to discuss current issues of judicial practice directly with a representative of the judiciary. The event contributed to forming a deeper understanding among students of the importance of effective communication as an integral component of the modern administrative process and their professional development as future lawyers.

The Department of Administrative, Commercial Law and Financial and Economic Security sincerely thanks Nataliia Savytska for her cooperation, meaningful lecture, and professional advice to young lawyers.
