DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE LAW OF THE INSTITUTE OF LAW

On February 17, representatives of the Student Directorate — students of the D8 “Law” educational program of the Department of Administrative, Commercial Law and Financial and Economic Security at the Educational and Research Institute of Law of Sumy State University — held a career guidance event for 11th-grade students of Sumy Secondary School No. 9.

During the meeting, the D8 “Law” students informed prospective applicants about the specific features of the program, emphasizing comprehensive theoretical training, practice-oriented courses, the development of legal analysis skills, work with regulatory frameworks, and the drafting of legal documents. Particular attention was paid to opportunities for participation in research activities, internships, and practical training.

The event was organized in an interactive format, enabling school students to better understand the specifics of the legal profession.

🔎 Detective Quest
Participants worked with a simulated case scenario, analyzed circumstances, identified inconsistencies, and developed their own legal positions. This format fostered critical thinking, logical reasoning, argumentation skills, and teamwork — key competencies of a modern legal professional.

📄 Interactive Session “Find the Flaw in the Contract”
During the practical task, students analyzed a model contract containing intentionally embedded errors and risky provisions. The activity allowed participants to experience the responsibility associated with working on legal documents and to understand the importance of precise wording and the legal consequences of contractual terms.

The event was held in a dynamic and engaging atmosphere. Such initiatives of the Department contribute to informed career choices and demonstrate the practical orientation of the D8 “Law” educational program.
