DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE LAW OF THE INSTITUTE OF LAW

Within the educational and enlightening activities of the scientific society of students and postgraduates “Fines legis” at the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law at Sumy State University, with the aim of increasing the awareness of the youth in our region about the peculiarities of the current functioning of Ukrainian society, an online meeting took place on January 18, 2023, at 16:30 on the Google Meet platform with Irina Yaroshenko, Acting Head of the Nedryhaylivsky branch of the Romny District Department of the State Institution “Sumy Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.”

The topic of the meeting was chosen to highlight the specifics of the Center’s functioning, which include ensuring sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population, protecting the population from infectious diseases, preventing and controlling non-infectious diseases, maintaining biological safety and biological protection, epidemiological surveillance of infectious diseases, immunoprophylaxis, educational work on a healthy lifestyle and prevention of risk factors, combating antimicrobial resistance, responding to health hazards, and emergencies in the healthcare sector.

During the meeting, Ms. Irina addressed legal issues related to the reorganization of the sanitary-epidemiological service, current legal problems regarding the implementation of antibiotic resistance prevention, the correctness of choosing and using antibiotics based on microbiological research results, which is crucial for healthcare professionals for quick determination of treatment for patients in healthcare facilities receiving medical care in stationary conditions. In the context of the conversation, Ms. Irina also shared her practical experience in identifying antibiotic-resistant microorganisms causing nosocomial infections, familiarized the audience with the importance of vaccinating children according to the schedule of preventive vaccinations.

Special attention was also given to the issue of protecting the rights of the population regarding access to clean drinking water, especially in conditions of martial law.
