According to the program of the qualifying course “Legal clinic” forstudents of the second course of NIP SSU, the lawyer of the reception of theUkrainian Helsinki Union on Human Rights in Sumy Esina Natalia conducted a guest lecture on the topic “peculiarities of counseling people who suffered fromwar crimes. Documenting war crimes in Ukraine”
During the class students learned what is called war crimes, who in Ukraineand how they are documented, in particular about the #Tribunal_for_putininitiative document.
It was discussed how important it is to record every episode of the harminflicted by Russian troops to civilian populations in Ukraine and why it isimportant to preserve historical truth for future generations.
Legal students are already aware of how many legal problems of migrantsand war victims will have to be solved not one year after our victory and are readyto learn and learn from the experience of human rights defenders in order to helppeople.
Involving practitioners in the course “Legal Clinic” helps to formprofessional qualities of students and better understanding of future profession.
